Yearbook Information - How to get your photo in the School Yearbook for FREE. We are collecting pictures to go in the yearbook! Do you participate in an outside sport such as gymnastics, swimming, skateboarding, surfing, horse riding, etc...? Have you done the ice bucket challenge? Do you have funny pictures of you and other students from when you were younger? What about pictures from the first day of school? A hilarious photo bomb? If none of the above, AT LEAST YOU HAVE A SELFIE! Send them to jenniferparham@atasusd.org or print them out and bring them to room 12 by October 28th!
Attention all boys interested in playing basketball. Tryouts are next week! October 20th, 21st, and 22nd. The tryouts are 3:30-5:00 for 8th grade and 6:30-8:00 for 7th grade. You must make all tryouts to have a chance to make the team. You must have a physical turned into the office in order to tryout. Please see Mr. Talbert with questions. Good luck!
It's never too late to join our early morning choirs! 7th and 8th graders meet Mondays and Tuesdays 7:40-8:10 and 6th graders meet Wednesdays and Thursdays 7:40-8:10 in the Music Room (#34). All voices are welcome!
The Atascadero Junior High School Band will march in the Colony Days Parade, Saturday, October 18th at 10 AM. Cheer them on!
Picture re-takes will be next Wednesday October 22nd in the Old Gym. The student will need to bring his/her previous pictures on that day.

6th Grade Update
The 6th Grade Science Camp at Rancho El Chorro is Tuesday, June 9- Friday, June 12. 
A $50 deposit is due Friday, October 17th. The 6th Grade Homework Club is after school from 3:00-3:30. Room 17 is on Monday, Room 18 is on Tuesday, Room 19 is on Wednesday, and Room 20 is on ThursdayThe second Reading Counts test needs to be done by Friday, October 17th. Students can log in from theatasjhs.sharpschool.net. Students should be reading 30 minutes for homework. Looking ahead, the third Reading Counts test is due by Friday, October 31.
The 6th grade teachers want to make sure parents are checking the homework on the jh web page. We are finding that many students are not completing homework on time. Go to atasjhs.sharpschool.net. Then look for the Homework link, click. Select 6th Grade. 
 Candle, Inc. Reality Tour, sponsored by Lighthouse.  The intended audience is students, grades 6-12 and their parents.The Reality Tour is scheduled for Sunday, October 26. One tour will be offered from 12 noon - 3:00pm at the Colony Park Community Center. Space is limited and sign-up is required. This is a coordinated effort among the Atascadero Greyhound Foundation, Atascadero Police Department, Atascadero Fire Department and the Lighthouse Foundation, which supports drug and alcohol counseling for Atascadero Unified students.  Signing up for the tour is easy, simply click here to register!
